Spurred by rising pressure from investors, consumers, regulators, and other stakeholders, more and more companies in 2020 are scrutinizing the environmental effects of their businesses. Here we present our broader argument for greener supply chains. The companies have concluded that these extra efforts are a high-payback investment, since greener supply chains can deliver benefits for both business and the environment. ) Critically, these organizations are also working to improve their supply chains’ sustainability (as well as the sustainability of their supply chain partners), often experimenting with unprecedented types of collaborations with suppliers, customers, and even competitors across sectors and geographies. They are striving to enhance their supply chains’ agility and efficiency. Leading organizations are focusing particularly closely on their global supply chains.
